Divorced after 20 year marriage, one kid, I'm in my 50s, live alone. I'd not want a live-in anyone, I minimize my interactions with society now; my goal for retirement is solitude, living aboard my oceangoing sailboat sailing the Caribbean for most of the year, coming ashore for supplies, repairs and to see my kid. If my health and strength are still sufficient, I'll do this, and my wish is to die alone at sea, let the seabirds eat my remains. Live and die on my terms, not rotting away abused in a nursing home parasite taking all my wealth.

My health is good so far, but my strength while good is not what it once was though I do what I can with exercise. If my health or strength deteriorate too much, I will not be able to live as I plan, so it will be plan B, instead of sailing I'll visit additional countries in Asia, I've been to several, and decide on one for home base, live there most of the year.

Less strength at 50? Im 46 and go to the gym with my 17 year old son nearly every night after working a 10 hour day

Get your arse up and start going to a gym or buy some weights to keep you strength up.

My Parents are in their seventies and have no issues .My dad regularly gardens and rides a pushbike.My mother does aquarobics. I just finished working alongside a 70 year old who surfs whenever he can , travels all over surfing .He is a regular in the gym and I watched him once do 50 chin-ups with ease,

If you see it as an issue , do something about it

Something I've often thought about too. I am an only child, I have no family but for mum and dad. I don't know what I will do when they are gone. I am 35 now, but I think forward, if I make it to being an old man, how will I look after myself? Although I have to say my dad has a friend who is well into his 80's and he lives alone perfectly fine. This gives me some hope that if I keep myself in good shape I can hopefully live at home well into old age. Honestly though, if it got to the point where I couldn't wipe my own arse, I'd kill myself.

I’d stay away from the live in single mom’s. Too much drama and maybe a false accusation or common law claim.

I have given this some thought and this works for me; your situation might differ. I’m almost 40 and live in a 5 bedroom 3 washroom home in a major metropolitan area. I have a niece/nephew under 5. No kids of my own.

While I plan to be healthy for the next 30+ years; you never know what life can bring. I’m super active and athletic, but I don’t feel as strong as I did in my 20/early 30s. Father Time will catch up to me - as he always does. My property is small so outside maintenance is minimal.

If I get older and infirm, the outside maintenance will be contracted out. Lots of kids in the neighbourhood to cut the grass etc.

If I’m home alone, I will get one of those panic alarm services. Fall down go boom, it will sense my fall and activate emergency services. I will have a real estate lock box with a combo and door key so emergency services can enter without breaking down my door - the combo on file with the alarm company.

As technology improves I’m sure they will develop a cardiac rhythm monitoring service. So if I go into cardiac arrest at least they will find me before I start to stink up the place.

I’m hoping that as I age my niece/nephew will come live with their uncle in their early 20s. (My late 50s/ early 60s). The basement is a separate apartment so they get some independence but we can watch over each other.

If I get bored between now and then, I have some old military buddies that are red Pill. I might rent a room or two to them.

If I make it to 70+ then I will sell my home and move into a condo or assisted living building for the remainder of my years.

This is the thing gents, life is no party. Even if you have a fairy tale marriage your beloved spouse could die before you. Your kids could move away or not want you as part of their life. This is what Stoicism teaches. Accept things out of your control and mitigate those that are (make a plan).

Also you can live alone to a much older age by yourself with the availability of emergency health alert devices that notify 911. And also cell phones

That's a terrible idea.

So many things can go wrong, and then you're fucked. And depending on where you live, once she's established tenancy, you can't just boot her either.

Single guys probably don't need much more than a once or twice a week maid service unless you're a total slob.

So get you house cleaned by outsiders, hire escorts when you feel the need and live in peace.

Cohabitation is a non-starter, especially with single mothers, for any reason. Downsize if cleaning is becoming too much of a chore and keep your wits about you. The grift is real; especially in the later rounds of life if they imagine you to be, and perhaps aren't far off the mark, a doddering SIMP.

Let me clarify that I am in pretty good health. I workout and work essentially just part-time so my stress levels are pretty low. I am content with my life as a MGTOW man. My idea of the future would have me to still living the life as a free man but with assistance on a professional level. I do live in a developing country though which would insulate me from any METOO stuff. Also, the hired help would be much less expensive. As long as you pay, women will do whatever you need them to do. In my mind, I still feel that this would be like a MGTOW kind of existence. It's when you let feelings enter into the picture that prevents a man from achieving a MGTOW life. Feelings make you do stupid stuff like marriage.

I seriously doubt you'll need any help at all in your 50s, unless you're very unlucky with illness, or live a very reckless lifestyle. My parents are 70, and do most things for themselves. My Mum had a heart attack last year and still does her own shopping and stuff.

Give your housekeeping money to men only is my advice. Anything to deflate the power of the feminine power game (divorce raping,#metoo,cucked movies and music etc.)also you are at much less risk of her claiming she is a live in partner even if a lie.

Nevertheless, this is a bad idea. Rather than enabling THOTishness, why don't you actually contact a local security company and discuss this with them? Probably they will suggest you wear an emergency pendant, so if you fall down, you can push it and security will come over to help you.

Also, the latest apple watch can monitor your heart, and tied in with Siri and Shortcuts app, you can use it to call people if you fall down, or text your emergency contact if your heart stops.
