Just a short song before I go back to lurking. Frame is one of the key tenets of TRP and for a fucking good reason and the source of this post.
I'm in the military (Navy) and so I fly often during leave. On my most recent flight we faced MODERATE turbulence. Something akin to a kiddie roller coaster and you have middle aged women crying, old men praying, and young women clutching hands. Not only is this kind of response irrational as hell but also an indicator of deeper beliefs.
We're men here. We know we're disposable, forgettable, invisible... shit especially invisible if we don't hone ourselves.
With that in mind the only insight to share off the experience is that I was the ONLY one laughing with the twisting metal "death trap" I was in.
There was a good reason for this. I accepted my temporal nature long ago and it has given a liberating perspective ever since.
Know you're going to die Be ready for it It comes sooner than any of us think.
With this in mind I often think of how important it is not only to laugh at our tears for what they are. But to also laugh at our own deaths, as inevitable as THEY are. For it is when we draw strength from our fear that we use it for our own purpose.
Laugh at death boys. She's just another shit test for us to pass in our minds.
[EDIT] Fixed some drunken typin' and added a flair.
