Maybe the wrong sub, but I don't know where else to rant this. I grew up watching a lot of tv and movies with jokes about the nagging wife who controls the man's life, and even now in this subreddit I see a lot of people stating that they used to have fun interesting lives until their wife/ex-wife completely controlled everything and took the fun away, like no more drinking, no more going out with the guys, etc. I see those guys who used to be the life of the party seemingly all cleaned up and acting like a complete twat once they get married and/or have kids all the time. I'm approaching 30 and I see a ton of people my age in the twat phase of their life.

My question is, why?! Why in the absolute fuck are men allowing anyone to dictate anything about their own life? Every relationship I've had with a woman in my life I have always made it a point to state that this is who I am and if YOU have an issue with it, then fucking leave. Women are of course a huge part to blame for this, but we cannot sit and act like these absolute beta males are not equally as guilty for the decrease is masculine roles. The day a woman tells me what I can and can't do is the day I blow my fucking brains out. I'm in a relationship now with a woman who understands my boundaries, my needs, and of course we compromise on minor things, but I cannot even imagine a moment in time that I'd be willing to subjugate myself to some other human controlling something in my life.

Is it sex? Loneliness? companionship? what is making men grovel at the feet of a woman's demands? why does it seem like it really only happens when you're married with kids?

I want to see men acting like men again, going your own way or not.
