It’s just assbackwards thinking. Here is a good example of just how stupid this is. Look at a woman or a man who is actively trying to find a partner. Let’s compare them to a business, perhaps a restaurant. Businesses like restaurants are trying to attract more customers (like men & women who are trying to attract a possible partner).

Imagine this meme being about a restaurant and it states:

“Our food doesn’t have to taste good”

“Our servers can be rude if they wish”

“We do not have to clean the bathrooms”

“Our employees do not have to wash their hands”

And later the owner says, “where have all the food patrons gone?”
