This guys wife forbids him and their children to read wtf.

My wife is a very practical person, which is one of the reasons I love her. But she absolutely hates books in every way. She hates reading. She hates reading to our son. She hates that I love to read. She rolls her eyes when she sees other people reading. She constantly gives me sh*t for reading; hides my books, nagging me,”what do you get out of it? It’s so lame? You look like a nerd?”

She thinks reading is a total and complete waste of time. She is a person of action and when she sees someone reading she just thinks they should be working.

She’s an intelligent well rounded woman, college educated, witty, great career, she’s just absolutely hates books.

Any ideas on how to change her opinion on reading?

I’ve tried buying her books on topics that she’s interested in. I’ve tried buying us the same book so we could talk about it together. Nothing works.

She just hates books. When she sees a book store she literally says,”yuck” and walks the other way.

I’ve really tried to pin it down on why she hates books. The closes we’ve got is that she works a stressful high pressure job and the last thing she wants to do when she’s off work is read and think.

But I think that’s BS, she’s always been like this, even in her youth.

Any ideas?
