I find that I am incapable of enjoying anything fictional that enjoyed as a kid. Ever since I turned 20 it's as if a switch went off in my head and everything I enjoyed as a kid just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore. It's like a veil that's been covering my eyes all my life has been suddenly lifted and now everytime I try to enjoy something fictional I enter this hyper-critical mindset that can't over look the flaws of a fictional work to enjoy something for what it is and does well. This has gone into pretty much every general medium that exists: Movies/T.V., Anime/Manga, Video Games, Comics/Cartoons, and Novels just to name some. Some specific works that brought me absolute joy growing up such as: Dragon-ball, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Mario, The Legend of Zelda, The Lord of The Rings, Napoleon Dynamite, Avatar The Last Airbender, and Spider-Man just to name a few, I can't bring myself to enjoy the same way I have for most of my life up to this point. I find especially difficult to bring myself to enjoy Science Fiction works that I enjoyed as a kid like: Trigun, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, and Metroid Prime. Whenever I go back to watch a Science Fiction work I am constantly reminded at how most of the science based concepts aren't factually sound and will be become obsoleted as our own scientific findings advance over time. Maybe I'll gain a new perspective that allows me to go back and enjoy these things in a new light that I didn't have when I initially enjoyed these works growing up, or if not I guess I'll just have to let these things go for good and never look back...

"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things." - Corinthians 13 Verse 11
