Virtually every "recently divorced"* guy...

They all seem -- and especially sound (words, statements) -- like they are MGTOW during their post-breakup/post-divorce "I'm DUN with women!" stage/phase... which typically "appears" to last anywhere from about 6 to 18 months**; most often with the latter 1/3 of that being relatively fallacious (i.e. they've already begun the process of backpedaling away from that, started the process {at least internally} of seeking another pussy to serve/enslave themselves to; even if they haven't yet begun the actual "chase"), before they slink away... and then X months later you find out they've already "fallen off the wagon" (as they tend to call it, and violated their own "resolution").

As far as "signs to look for"... they're pretty obvious if/when you know the person BEFORE the above occurs: they typically reveal their own sort of addicted/enslaved mindset via statements aong the lines of "I don't know how you do it man... how do you live ALL ALONE... don't you miss not having someone to... [blah blah]" or the variations on that "Aren't you afraid that... [yada yada, etc etc]."

Those are all clues/hints that the individual not only likely has zero to no actual experience of truly "living alone" (i.e. by choice, not perforce); but that they are likely so inured to a sort of soap-opera like existence, habituated to a "noise & drama"-filled household... that a quiet "life of solitude" (at least anything beyond more than a few days of "vacation") will prove to be unendurable to them.

Ergo if/when they find themselves in such a scenario they will -- and usually in a rather short period of time -- attempt to "remedy" what they feel is missing in one manner or another: often via various means of "drowning out their sorrows" (booze, noisy bars, etc); or else any of a series of attempts at "relationships" (short term, until one "sticks").

All of which renders them almost entirely UNreliable; in virtually ANY regard. (As bad as "blue pill" married guys can be in terms of frienship, even they tend to be more reliable that the faux-MGTOW guy who is in denial of his pussy addiction -- the former may have dozens of "excuses" for failing you {some of which may actually be real and beyond his control}, but at least they're apologetic about it -- whereas the latter will simply toss you under the bus at a moments notice the hint that "pussy" is in the air; and with not even a glance back.)

* Or these days "recent breakup from LTR/cohabit" (same thing really).

** Given the surrounding circumstances -- YMMV -- can be significantly longer (but rarely more than 5 years) in the more extreme "divorce rape" cases, especially if there is a heavy "chilimony" burden, and/or under the stress the dude goes off the deep end (loses job, becomes alcoholic or exacerbates pre-existing latent alcoholism, etc).

Ironically all my best guy friends back in high school were MGTOW and didn’t care about women. I was the simp chasing girls all the time even after numerous rejection.

A friend who I hardly hear from lately went through a breakup several years ago. I thought he got it after the last break up. He didn't turn on me, but now he's cohabitating with his girlfriend and paying for everything.
