Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he's late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day.

Listen to him: You may have a lot of things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

Make the evening his: Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to come home and relax.

The goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

Ha ... hAHAHAHAHA Oh if only they could ever really do that or understand why this is important to a hard working man.

You'd think with women getting burned out in the workplace so easily these days they would respect this more than ever.

My grandmother treated my grandfather this way and he treated her like a queen as a result. Married 60+ years, eight children (all successful), and when my grandfather passed away - a great man and Korean War veteran who I miss everyday - my grandmother truly lost her best friend. That was clear. She would read letters he wrote her from his time in the Army and they truly appreciated each other and what each brought to the table. God honest truth, my grandmother asked me if I would ever settle down and I told her I would have but then I realized ladies like her don't exist anymore. Her response - I swear - was, "Isn't THAT the truth"...lol She never asked me the question again.

good news, it will come again, after the collapse and fall of western/modern civilization. unfortunately for many of us alive today, we'll experience the worst of the transition and little else; and few if any of us will live to see the return of a hard patriarchy.

Those tips (pearls of wisdom) were relevant and for good reason.In a time where the husband (provider) and the wife (homemaker)'s roles and responsibilities were clearly defined.

While the perception of such stereotypical roles in hindsight (as efficient as they were for sustaining a marital arrangement) is moot, their complete dismantlement under the pretext of unchecked 'psuedo women's empowerment' is unilaterally responsible for the current state of affairs.

Anyone dares to question that hypothesis.Just tell them to research and map declining birth rates,increasing divorce rates,male vs female employment rates for the last 50-60 yrs.No citations required.Let them do the legwork.
