Software engineer here. I love how they always try to take the best technical people and turn them into managers. I've had to fight hard to be technical at multiple jobs. My communication skill and demeanor usually gets me saddled with the Scrum Master job, and from there they always try to pull me into management. No thanks. I like solving technical problems. I'll accept less money/power for greater job satisfaction. I think I make a very acceptable salary.

Get a dog! Owning a dog is awesome. It forces you to get out and take your dog for a walk now and then. Dog owners also love other dog owners, so it's a great way to meet new people and make friends too. They're adult kids now, and even if they aren't biologically his, that man raised them and is bound to have a strong attachment to them at this point. What was commonly considered a male trait of being "as faithful as the options available" is increasingly being proven to be true of both genders. The difference is that we've gone from "wow what a stud" vs "wow what a slut" to "wow how misogynistic" vs "wow how empowering/liberating" I agree that it's a function of status and power. I'm all for a movie centered around a superheroine, but if I'm going to watch one I want to watch it because there's a great movie with a great story to tell. I don't want to see some lazy copycat film trying its best to pander to a specific audience. Wonder Woman, for example, was a solid movie, and easily the best in the mostly forgettable DC Universe films. Supergirl is more than likely going to be awful.
