I disagree. It's a solid movie compared to most other crap these days, but it still has so many SJW moments (female agent, other female agent, his ex-wife etc.).
Tom Cruise also looks visibly old and short on breath now. In particular seeing him side-by-side with Cavill was a little bit cringy. At least that's what I thought.
Still, the movie has some really good scenes (like the thunderstorm scene) that are filmed very well and in general mostly good cinematography. Good powerful audio mix as well.
Overall I'm not a big fan, but wouldn't recommend against watching.

I got into an debate with a co-worker about this, and I've made it well known so far that I am black(yeah I know people probably won't believe me) He also is black, and it went exactly like this....
We were talking about James Bond, but it carries over to this as well, and he was saying "Why can't he be black, he's fictional so why not". I basically just told him because "The way we all have seen bond for many years is white guy regardless if it's fictional.
My point is this if a character was a one-off type of character fine do whatever, but if he's been the main character forever it's like Spiderman I can get down with the new one coming because it's implied it's a different universe.
On the other hand I don't want to see my favorite black hero Static Shock turned white, lation, or asian no I'm not racist/bigoted I GREW UP WATCHING HIM, AND DAMN IT HE REMINDED ME OF ME.
Static Shock wasn't Luke Cage, Black Green Lantern, any other black hero that people know of. Just a regular kid with TWO FUCKING PARENTS(One died), but still he was a regular FUCKING BLACK KID! NOT THIS BULLSHIT YOU SEE ON THE NEWS /rant

They should make a movie about the life of the good friend of Ian Fleming who inspired his James Bond character, Sidney Cotton. He was more of a entrepreneur who entangled himself amongst the political & military elite of europe, brokering information. During WW2 he & Fleming worked together in the secret service & continued their friendship long after victory.
I don't get why they have to ruin art that already exists.
Just make original stories or make movies from stories that actually have black characters if they care so much about that. There are many great movies with black actors and I never minded that.

I'm all for a movie centered around a superheroine, but if I'm going to watch one I want to watch it because there's a great movie with a great story to tell. I don't want to see some lazy copycat film trying its best to pander to a specific audience.

I'd say there were plenty of other major issue with DC. Feminism sucks but so did the entire handling of DC characters at Warner Bros. The box office returns were dismal and Cavill likely just wants to separate himself from a suffering brand.
