Christine Blasey Ford has claimed that four other people attended a small gathering at which she was allegedly assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh. Three of those people, PJ Smyth, Mark Judge, and Kavanaugh, have already denied any recollection of attending such a party.

On Saturday night, Leland Ingham Keyser, a classmate of Ford's at the all-girls school Holton-Arms and her final named witness, denied any recollection of attending a party with Brett Kavanaugh.

"Simply put, Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford," lawyer Howard J. Walsh said in a statement sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

CNN reports that " Keyser is a lifelong friend of Ford's."

Keyser previously coached golf at Georgetown University and is now executive producer of Bob Beckel's podcast. Keyser is the ex-wife of Beckel, a former Democratic operative and commentator. A search on OpenSecrets.org reveals Keyser's only political donation has been to former Democratic senator Byron Dorgan.

Keyser's denial, as a female lifelong friend and Ford's last named witness, is the most consequential development that has occurred since Ford publicly stepped forward last Sunday and detailed her allegations to the Washington Post. Ford's allegation of the 1982 incident was told to no one until a 2012 therapy session, when Kavanaugh was first touted in the media as the most likely GOP Supreme Court nominee.

The more I read about this, the more I think the DNC was looking into Kavanaugh's past for ANY item they could use as a character assassination moment, because they couldn't invalidate him based on competence or professional history.

They had to get something personal and juicy to tie up the process for weeks/months, and a sexual assault/harassment accusation is the perfect thing. Thing is, Kavanaugh's apparently one of the few people in Washington who hasn't stuck his privates into places he/she shouldn't, and thus has a choir boy reputation. That they had to go back 40 years is proof of this, because at least Clarence Thomas was accused of doing something during his professional adult life.

When they realized the only thing that could even vaguely be used against Kavanaugh was a half-remembered drunken night that long ago, they probably pushed her as far as they could. They probably said "it'd really help, and we'll only use it if we have to, so that we're totally respectful of your life and reputation", and of course insider scumbags that they are, they held onto it for only 2 weeks before they decided to trot her out, and it's pretty clear she either doesn't want to do this, or wasn't prepared to go through with it, because the 'case' is crumbling before the hearings even start.

Maybe she felt corroborating 'witnesses' would help prop up her weak position, but it's clear the message has gone out loud and clear that this situation is a political third rail that'll kill everyone who touches it, except of course the people who were wanted dead.

Honestly, I think the Dems set her up for a raw deal because they didn't have anything left to use; I mean, they tried nothing and and it hasn't worked (unless you count showboating and virtue signalling to be valid strategems). If they have to ruin her life to waste a couple weeks time, they'll do it gladly and line up 3 more, and that's just another reason why I'll probably never vote Dem again.

I don't feel sorry for Ford, not really, but she was probably done dirty.
