Culinary skills are one of those things that can be described as "easy to learn, hard to master". Anyone can feed a family but it takes an incredible amount of commitment to the craft to earn a spot on such lists.

I am a chef and even I don't have that level of commitment! I like other aspects of my life too much to toss them by the wayside and fame just sounds tiring.

Watch a documentary called "Jiro dreams of sushi" to see what complete commitment to a craft looks like.

I love this one.
I work in the branch for 2 decades (not a chef, but a bartender) and was planning to actually post about their incompetence. What they think, is some Rene Zellweger bullshit cooking and relaxing while drinking wine and listening to the music as if this is a fucking walk in the forest. Go watch a cook after his shift. The stress, the non stop freaking tempo, the panic, the injuries, the curses, the fuck ups. Have you seen a chef after work in a busy restaurant?
They sit down wrecked like athletes do after a marathon, crash and collapse.
Only 1/10 of women goes to work in this fucking nightmare, and only 1/10 of this 1/10 is willing to stay and is actually good at their job.

Women don’t do too well in this industry.

Too many emotional liabilities with them. I’ve seen a handful of good female bakers and a rare fue who can cook on a line.

Of all of the females who I have worked with I can count on one hand the ones who hold their own and do the same amount of work men do and I still got two fingers left. All the others were fucking the boss, fresh out of culinary school and trying out a career before floundering and having kids or doing something else, or just worthless and had to be carried by the rest of the line.

Just the communication on a working line will have a woman in tears by the end/middle of their first shift. “Where the fish?!” “Move faster!” “Lets go! Pick up the pace fry!” “That looks like shit. Refire!” “Come on fry!. Give me your all day!” “Behind you!” “Hot stuff” “corner!” “Oven door” “coming around” “COME! ON! FRY! I need fish to sell!!!” You can not take the that kind of communication to heart. They do.

A fuck up needs to be identified, realized, corrected, and forgot/gotten over within seconds without shame. Women will fail to even identify their fuck up and denies it for an eternity, how would they even correct it.

One thing I do know is that thots love to bang chefs. The culinary bad boys so full of passion. Even when I wasn’t in the industry I’d say I’m a chef. Especially if I was out of work. They spread like warm buttah. Of course many women can’t handle a relationship with one because of the shit schedule and lifestyle. Not to mention the shit pay. The married ones cheating on Billy or the slags tho. They love the romance of banging a food artist bad boy. Tee hee he smells like French fries.

I used to work in a high end bar in NZ. The head chef was a very cunning funny prick. I had asked him the exact same question. He said being a chef is much more than cooking. It's an extremely demanding management job. You have to give your 100% all the time, manage a huge list of inventory, crank out orders after orders like an assembly line. No woman can handle that much pressure.
