I just rewatched man of steel last night. The reason he is such a profound character is because he represents the sacrificial son. He's willing to die for humanities sake. It doesnt matter what color he is, white was just what the artist/author chose like 80 years ago. Changing it for the sake of changing it is stupid. Just rewrite a new character with a different plot, but the same premise and it would be just as successful if it has as much marketing as superman has had over the decades.
