This is actually a big reason I went MGTOW.

I am in the performing arts in a major city/market; in this field employment for most is the exception, not the rule. Despite that I've done ok for myself, and every once in a while you get a gig that nets you some serious coin (TV work mainly).

Well, the sensible person says "I don't know when the next time will be that I'll have this sort of money, I had better be smart with this and make sure it lasts".

My ex, on the other hand, became whiny and nagged about me not "taking care of her" (she had a job and made good money...which she never saved, even though she was living with family rent free for a couple years...), and started nagging about wanting to take a vacation to Europe.

I began to resent how she didn't see that I wanted to SAVE my money, since being a starving artist is not cute. You would think that because we were in the same field she would've understood, but no.

Frugality is "cheapness" to most women. I would say that they should read "The Millionaire Next Door", but we all know they wouldn't bother reading.

Then they wonder why they end up living off of cat food when they're older.
