Here's a quote from Steve Jobs:
“People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I'm actually as proud of the things we haven't done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”
I was in line at the supermarket today, and was chatting with the checker, who was pretty obviously a dyke. She mentioned being interested in a sport I have some contact with, and I volunteered to introduce her to one of the instructors, who is also a dyke. I did, by email, and now I realize I should not have done that.
Neither one of these women has ever, or will ever, lift a finger to help me accomplish anything. In fact, in some ways, both are working against me. I don't have a lot of free time to begin with, and it's sort of an automatic reflex to connect people, to be helpful, and so on. I think a key element of MGTOW thinking is learning to say no to all the automatic social behaviors that we sort of instinctively engage in, but that don't get us anywhere. Need to always ask "what's in this for me?"
