Remember, this is exactly how you deal with these people. Jones might be a loony, but you don't convince most people of anything by calmly laying out logic. This kind of mocking and talking down to people unironically is how you win against these people. Back your talking points and inform your stance with logic, but do not argue with logic alone. Argue for what you know to be right based on logic and morality, but don't use logical and moral talking points as the basis of your argument. An argument is a verbal battle. Honorable people are those who meet honor with honor, not those who meet dishonor with honor. Honor in combat is a social code and you are not morally obliged to follow social codes while opponents ignore them.
