If you have a vasectomy, you have three options.

Reversal of the vasectomy.

Storing frozen sperm.

Use sperm aspiration from seminal vesicles or the testicle the same way done during IVF.

All three work to various extents. Vasectomies prevent unplanned pregnancies, reversal has pros/cons, frozen sperm are outside of your control, and IVF will cost you a few bucks. All three will cost you a few bucks.

The whole point is to put power into your hands.

To give some worst case scenario costs.

Vasectomy reversal can cost a few thousand to tens of thousands depending on where you have it done and a clinic vs. hospital setting.

Sperm freezing is about a thousand, the $300-$500 a year storage. Implantation is generally < $5000.

IVF is usually less than $12,000.

I got a vasectomy in my mid-20s. Best thing I ever did. No interest in ever getting it reversed, so I don't care if it's irreversible.

Do not do it thinking you are going to reverse it in the future. Even though it is possible, it’s an intricate expensive surgery with only about a 50% success rate. You should view it as a permanent sterilization.

I had it done several years ago. No change in function. Minimal to zero discomfort during the procedure.

Vasectomy is usually great. Unless you roll snake eyes and get post vasectomy pain syndrome. Then it sucks bad.

I had a vasectomy last year at 44. Vast majority of guys say no change but for me actually I did think something was a bit off after. Is better now - almost 9 months later but not sure if I am now just used to the new normal (slightly less intense orgasm, perhaps slightly les sex drive). On balance though still worth it. I think the significance of the operation is underplayed though- it is a pretty radical procedure to server the Vas defrens. The epididimus does blow-out in lots of guys and post vasectomy pain syndrome is a real thing. Be informed I guess.

I'm 33 with no kids and thinking a it doing it this year. I heard you can't do it until you're 35 or have had a kid already? If that's true, that's fucked up....

I got mine and got it reversed a year and a half later. Despite what everyone says, there's definitely a difference!! How can there not be? I tried to convince myself, but in the end, had to be honest with myself and stop pretending it was the same. Going from millions of sperm to zero and they say nothing changes? Bullshit. Sex becomes pointless without that MAIN ingredient. Reversal was the best decision. I'm more self-aware of what happens when I cum so my orgasms are way more intense than ever now that I'm reattached. Reversal procedure (vasovasostomy) was easy too. Same steps as the vasectomy- ice and couch for a day or 2
