GOD, I hate hearing single mothers say this when forced back to work by the state! Let's see.....

A) the state pays ALL of your bills while you lounge around the house screeching at your kids every couple of hours, meanwhile contributing nothing of value to society. You are a 100% financial burden on society.

Or...

B) you work FT which covers little more than childcare, the state pays the rest of your bills, but not only does the state no longer have to pay for your childcare, you are likely providing at least some minimal service to society, whether scrubbing toilets or working in a nursing home. You are now only a 50% financial burden on society.

Disregarding which choice your average taxpayer would obviously choose for you, there is only one difference in the two circumstances as far as yourselves are concerned. YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR A LIVING!
