Tama Janowitz, former NYC "it girl" author, happening girl, from the early 1980s recently published her memoir about her life at 57 and the problems of fame and fortune after it is gone.
She was broke, trying to save her demented mother, and living in the Finger Lakes of NY.
Ms. Janowitz fell in love with a local contractor who was helping her build shelter for her mother. She moved in.
