So before you flame me, I’ve been MGTOW for a few years and not ALL of it has been bad. At first I really enjoyed it. The idea of being a “ghost” in society seemed cool and I just kept doing my own thing, fresh out of a breakup. However, the momentum has been lost and I’ve been feeling more and more weighed down by this constant nagging in the back of my head. I’m almost 25 years old. I enjoyed life more when I was fresh out of my breakup and still had my passion for bodybuilding, programming, and just being awesome in general.

The problem is this: the reason I used to be into those things was to be a better SAP for my ex! Make a lot of money doing what I thought I loved (programming, although now I find it to be too saturated of an industry), and then after work go lift heavy weights and be an awesome mofo. But now after the momentum has worn off, I’ve realized that my values have changed.

I’d still like to make a lot of money, however I’m no longer interested in killing myself on the corporate treadmill. I’d still like to be awesome, but I no longer give a fuck about impressing females. I’m only just now realizing that what drove me and what drives 99% of other males around me is that sweet, sweet female validation.

I used to never miss a day in the gym. 5 days a week, no questions. Now, not only do I not give a fuck about missing days in the gym, but I’ll spend 2 weeks going through 1 week of my routine. Hell, sometimes it’ll take me a month because I’ll only go in once a week. The problem is I no longer care to look like a Chad, in fact I want as little female attention as possible. And I don’t want to deal with the douches in the gym anymore, either. Before I found it fun to return their dirty looks and play the stupid games, now I feel like a loser just walking into a gym, because I can feel the thirst in the air from everyone around me and it makes me feel dirty.

I feel miserable because of all of this, including a lot more which would be too much to even write. But ultimately, after a few years of being MGTOW, my internal values have finally changed to match my thoughts and habits, and thus I am now overly aware of the driving force between all of my actions and that of those around me. It’s driving me nuts and I am becoming antisocial because all I can hear is mindless rambling and sweaty appendages slapping to a jarring instinctual tune.

How do I fix my values in life so that I don’t end up a bitter misanthrope? What is important to you? How can I learn to enjoy being around horny normies all the time?
