I used to think that laying like this with "my girl" made us closer.

I was so so wrong. This doesn't phase women. They may love momentary cuddling, but this does not make her respect you, think about you, want you, or even love you. She is getting pleasure from your body heat while her phone is lighting up in her pocket where she will later get pleasure from all the guys messaging her and liking her instagram pics.
