So I won't go over the entire story again. You may have seen from my other posts my ex decided she was happy anymore after 16 years and wants to ride the CC instead.
Now all during those 16 years I handled the money. We always had what we needed and more. Around 3 years ago my ex wasn't happy with her job and got an offer to work somewhere else. The new job was going to pay 5k more a year and seemed like a good fit. She tried to quit her current job and they came back and offered a huge raise. 15k more than what she was making. I told her my feelings on it. I said that she shouldn't stay for money, we were doing fine financially and she should make the move for her happiness not money. She of course didn't listen and stayed for the cash. So a few weeks after this big promotion she wanted to get a second car. She wanted something that in my mind was too much. I remember standing in the dealership arguing with her. I was saying we shouldn't be spending this new money just yet. It's only been a few weeks since her promotion and I honestly didn't trust it. But because I was a beta cuck I gave in. You know the whole happy wife happy life bull shit.
A few months go by and guess what happens? He current employer decides to fire her. Now it was wrongful termination and I feel they did this all out of spite. She quit, they convinced her to stay and then fire her later. So now we have this giant car payment and she has no job. She ends up getting a new job that's 20k a year less. We fight her wrongful dismissal and win but after the lawyers fees we don't end up with much.
Fast forward to now. I go and find a cheap apartment to live in at least for a year. I'm going get me shit together, get in shape and save some cash. She decides to buy a condo. She keeps saying how she's approved for this place starts telling her family about it and how great it is. I didn't care what she did. Personally I thought she was setting herself up for trouble financially but she kept saying the bank approved her.
Now back to that fancy expensive car. After she tells me she wants out of the marriage I make it clear that the fancy car and payment is all hers. We draw up a separation agreement where it's stated that she alone is responsible for that car, the payments and maintenance.
Back to the condo. The bank comes back and declines her for the condo! Why?
Her debt ratio is too high due to the high car payment! The very car I was against buying in the first place. So it came full circle and screwed her. I couldn't help but smile as now she's scrambling to find a place to live. Of course she wanted sympathy from me cause she didn't get her condo and didn't give her any.
