There is a reason why he's the second most staged playwright in the world after Shakespeare. And if he wrote in English, he'd probably be #1, IMHO. Chekhov was an intimate expert of the human (including female) nature and his plays show it.

I just tried to explain to my colleague the fact that I enjoy the solitude. He's like 50/50 mgtow but not 100% here yet. I think if men are isoleted from their male friends, they are easy targets for being manipulated by their wifes and so becoming more useful providers (slaves).

Anton Chekhov was a great storyteller and a keen observer of human behavior and psychology. As a doctor he traveled all over, and must've been privy to all manner of relational dynamics.

One of my favorite writers. There's a reason his work is still celebrated and produced.

Ah, I'm sure Chekhov's quote applies in many cases but I never felt loneliness in my marriages. In my first mostly annoyance and the desire to escape.
