So my son lately has been asking questions...

"Dad, why do you live in a dirty condo trailer thing and mom lives in a nice home?"

"Why does all your furniture suck"?

"Why can't you afford TV?"

"Why are you always "broke"

"Why doesn't your truck have A/C"?

"If you make more money than Mom and Josh, (her new husband) where is it?"

Me..."Ugh....How do I say this...? lol"

I know he's just an 11 year old boy and he doesn't understand the whys and hows of this, and honestly I'd be willing to absorb all of the blame and hope he never gets to a point in his life where he does understand, but its just aggravating and the questions are almost non stop lately . Your the bad guy if you argue for your self and the bad guy if you don't...I mean I'm obviously not going to respond to my 11 year old son with "because mommy cheated on daddy because she "wasn't happy" and we live in an abusive country that makes daddy give mommy and josh 45% of his net income which additionally pads their low end part time jobs along with welfare and refuses me more than 20% custody with you for the sake of turning a profit".

I know he's just inquisitive and I wish I had an answer that didn't turn me into a blame sponge to avoid shit talking, but its just kinda becoming aggravating. I also don't have any disciplinary leverage because if I start disciplining my kids, they might not want to come over and their mom won't "make" them come over. They aren't brats, but they are messy, lack clean up skills, argumentative, don't respond to directions and are the direct result of passive single mom/absent mom upbringing. It kind pisses me off that I can't really instill or enforce punishments and don't have enough time with them if I could.

I know there isn't any real solution to this beyond just being a blame sponge and a total pushover...and just cross my fingers...I'm just frustrated. My daughter is 8 so I'm sure this shit is going to get ten times worse with her in a few more years. Just trying to enjoy the good years with that one until she develops into a snarky teenage product of an angry feminist mother.
