I work with a man who is married for 45 years and has kids. He tells me stay and single and play around. Why is this?

You're a man. Don't act dumb. You know exactly why. You're living it right now but you just don't feel it. I look at the comments section and no one is properly explaining it. I'll explain it then.

You have freedom. Your life may not be the best. Your car may suck, your may not live in the best place, you may not make enough money. But you have something he lost. You don't have to come home and wonder what stupid shit you'll be yelled at about today. You can work but you don't have to worry about a woman leaving you because you don't make enough money/not ambitious enough/etc. You don't HAVE to worry about constantly buying things the children need while your needs and wants are denied. You have bills sure. But you don't have bills like he does. His electric and water bill will always be high no matter what. He has to burn more gas because he has a family. The sex has not and will never be good enough. You never have to wake up and worry if today is the day you'll get screwed i.e. divorce. Want to sleep? Go right on ahead. When you're married with kids? Can't do that anymore.

Toilets will be clogged more often. Your wife? Will bitch and nag about whatever issues that she expects YOU to resolve. You buy cleaning supplies? They will run out a lot faster with a family. Garbage bags? What? No one ever mentioned that to you before? I dated a single mom with two kids. I've seen the trash be filled 3 times in one fucking day. Do you know how much trash I generate on my own? Very little. That's more money you have to spend.

Single? You work as much as you need. Married? You attempt to work as hard as your family needs. Your stress? Higher. Live alone? You answer to no one. Have a family? You gotta deal with whatever nonsense comes your way. Off this weekend? What do you want to do? Jack off? GO right ahead. Married with kids? Good luck with that. Gotta go shopping or hit up the flea market. New movie came out you want to see? Nice. Go see it. Married? You gotta take the entire family.

Enjoy nights of peace and quiet? Not anymore. You see what you cannot grasp are the simple things in life. I see a lot of guys on here talk about how much they enjoy being single but few point out the minor things that really change. You take for granted how you can go to sleep, wake up and not find that someone else trashed your place. You take for granted that you can focus on improving your life i.e. working out/doing martial arts/studying/etc for the future.

You take for granted how much longer a roll of toilet paper can last. When I was with my ex, a roll lasted TWO FUCKING DAYS. With me? Over a damn week.

All my married friends tell me they envy my life and reinforce that I should never get married or enter an LTR. On the opposite hand, I have never told them I envy their lives and would probably kill myself if I had to live them.

When I was in my early thirties and it continued as I got older married guys were telling me that there are very few reasons that guy over forty gets married.

They all basically said the same thing, you're one of those guys that needs a woman because you can't deal with living alone, or you're in poor health and need someone to take care of you.

It's called experience, the life kind in this case, something that your Dad or your Gramps and their friends would teach you.

At one time elders were revered (Natives still do it). Experience was very valuable even in jobs but now it is all about brainwashing degrees and many of them as useful as a rear tit.
