Here is the archived thread. Few excerpts from the thread are pasted below. If reddit overlords want to start banning subs, they've got lot of banning to do. Anyway feminists are going apeshit here. Always use archive.is links guys!

Having feminist core values is fine and most men, even mras and anti feminists will (mostly) agree with them. But as soon as a woman uses the label as a self descriptor and sees that as part of her identity I instantly will nope the fuck outa there like my hair was on fire. It means something totally different, it means you're likely searching for conflict and injustice in everything and take yourself far too seriously to have open and fun communication.

If "patriarchy" and "Mansplaining" are in your everyday vocabulary I nope the hell out of there. Unattractive.

Most people are, by the definition of “feminist”, feminist I.e. support gender equality in the eyes of the law and in all things reasonable where gender could possibly play a role. People who “proudly announce they are feminist” are usually a whole different animal. They are typically not for gender equality at all and, in my experience, are trying to speak a revenge fantasy into existence. They don’t love equality, they hate men.

Equality in the law? Sure. Social equality? Sure. Equal/Fair Pay? Yes. No more sexual harassment? Definitely. Patriarchy/men is the root of all the world's problems? Nah. Saying you are for gender equality, but performing the opposite in word and action? Nah. Using your sex/gender to wholly invalidate someone else's opinion on sex/gender? Nah. Feminism holding a monopoly on treating women with respect? Nah. Being a feminist as a necessary label for being a humanist? Nah. I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with being a feminist. I do have some concern when you feel the need to shout it to the world, as if it's some oppressed ideology in the liberal first-world countries (where most of them reside ironically). Look, I'm just trying to eat my sandwich and figure out the rest of my short stressful complicated meaningless life. I don't need someone blathering in my ear about how the angle between my pelvis and knees is somehow reinforcing female oppression.

If they are proudly announcing it, it means they play the identity politics game. They are people I would not want to be involved with as friendship or relationship.

Generally people who find it that necessary to announce their beliefs on anything, completely out of context are bad news. I put some mums in the same category. They have a kid and every sentence out of their mouths begins with “as a mother”. I have no problem with mother’s, but when it’s your sole identity then I lose the desire to listen.

Annoying. Telling me you’re a feminist doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t make me aware, it doesn’t offer any understanding of your views. It’s like they’re doing it because it’s the trendy thing to be not because it actually matters to them. Your actions will show me you’re a feminist, you don’t have to tell me every other sentence. The whole point of a movement is to educate people on the cause, not point out you’re a part of it.

I think feminism is anti-male. I don't really care if random people do it, but someone I would be a little wary with someone I know or someone I want to know because I'm not interested in feminist activism or feminist man-shaming nagging being a regular part of my life
