They've been making these prophecies for years. As bad as the obesity epidemics get, there's one thing that they don't account for in their statistical forecasts - there will always be a lot of people intelligent and responsible enough to not keep stuffing their face while avoiding exercise.

Calories in calories out people, it's not that hard. Just download myfitnesspal and track your calorie intake while maintaining a deficit to lose weight. You can still eat junk food with this method too, it's just that junk food will make your more hungry than healthy food. I personally lost 40 lbs on a diet consisting of 80% McDonald's before I was able to move somewhere with access to a grocery store.
