Surely we can all agree we love Disney, right? Growing up, I had 3 favorites, in no particular order. The Fox and the Hound, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion King.

As a kid I loved Fox and the Hound because I just love animals. And I loved (still do) the inspirational tale about unlikely friendship behind it. But it's just a tough movie to watch, so I kinda stopped liking it quite as much.

So then I could never decide between Beauty and the Beast or Lion King. It depended on my mood.

I realized about a year ago after watching both very close to each other. In B/B I couldn't help but roll my eyes a couple times because the sentiments were so far gone it's not even worth discussing anymore.

But watching LK, THIS is the prime Disney movie.

A young male lion, with societal obligations upon him, being ousted, trying to find himself even though he blamed himself for everything, the close support of a couple other male friends... And finally, going back and reclaiming what was rightfully his. Marching, chest in the air, up Pride Rock and realizing this is his kingdom, and everything the light touches is his.

Take Pride Rock, gentlemen.
