"I got out of an LTR about a year ago and since then I’ve gone on a bunch of first dates and had a couple of short term relationships that each lasted 2-3 months and ended when I pushed for DTR/girlfriend status and the guys tried to walk the relationship back to friends with benefits. I wasn’t going to beg these guys for crumbs so I just walked away. Is this a common outcome for dating these days? Do most people just want something casual, or is it just the guys I’m getting involved with? There was also this one guy who did this super crazy fast forwarding/future faking thing and promised me a bunch of stuff he never delivered on, and when it came time for him to actually be true to his word and he realized that he couldn’t, even HE offered to continue the relationship on his terms, as just a casual fwb situation. Does anyone else have experience with something like this?"
