Am I wrong and is it a bad idea? They are both customers at work. I am just trying to get to know them better.

Here's what I'm trying to get: I ask them out to get to know them, yet we are not officially dating. We are not a couple. And yet people would look down on this, perhaps they would if they knew, but why? They wouldn't like it if I went around claiming we are in a relationship already yet they get offended if I'm talking to someone else. So technically I am supposed to be exclusive to them and yet they don't have to be exclusive to me, I still have to win that? This is some fucked up shit. Am I wrong?
