Warning: there’s gonna be lots of opinion in this post!

Last night, before I went to bed, I was winding down, browsing some posts on my favourite sub. I came across one complimenting our sub on having complete disregard for race.

It got me thinking, why as human beings do we even bother with identity politics? And then I realised, as human beings doing our daily business, we don’t give a shit. And that’s why the left have taken such a (well deserved IMO) hammering recently.

Identity politics is (excuse the dirty language here) fucking stupid. It takes the idea of self determination and throws it out the window. It pretty much states that because you’re a certain gender, colour or sexual orientation you deserve special treatment over others because...umm I haven’t spent enough time dissecting the left wing hive mind to figure out exactly why. How on earth is that fair, on anyone?

Take your average working class young bloke for example. The type of person who would come from a family where they wold vote for your centre left political party. He’s gone through school, always being taught how he’s guilty because he chose to be born white. He’s had to battle hard for employment because of diversity quotas, all because he chose to be born male. He heads home, turns on the TV and talk show hosts reinforce this crap. And when he finally secured his employment, he has a fair portion of his hard earned stolen by the state, never to see any benefit from it because he chose to be born privileged.

He’s gonna start thinking to himself, hold on a sec, what have I done here to deserve all this? To deserve to be bullied from pillar to post by people that have never done an actual day’s work in their life? He will realise that left wing politics, which ostensibly is meant to help the working class, doesn’t give a shit.

That’s why working class types such as myself have given up on the left. Rant over.
