Bitch at my work doesn't believe in the "contagion myth"

So this woman at my work was coming down with something, sneezing, coughing and all that. She says it's her body trying to flush something out. She doesn't call in sick because she doesn't believe in what she calls the "contagion myth." What the fuck is that? Has anybody ever heard of something like that?
