Hi, not RP related but I frequent here the most so thought I’d ask you guys.

I have been offered a new job. In my current job it feels like I have grown as much as I can, but I am extremely comfy in that I get on well with all my colleagues, are very well respected by everyone, have my own office and no-one breathing down my neck. My salary is ok and goes up a reasonable amount each year.

I started looking at jobs both out of boredom and when I had a rough couple of weeks at work. I didn’t expect to get an interview so quick or be offered a decent job for more money.

The new job is slightly better money and I will have more responsibility in that they are a smaller company wanting me to grow them. They don’t seem as nice a bunch of people and I have my hesitancy to the job role in that they are asking for a lot from just one person. They tell me they will expand so it’s a prime time to come on board, but I’ve been stitched up like this in the past. They are a legit company, this is their new venture and their other company is doing well (£20 mil turnover)

I guess I’m being a pussy in that I’m a bit scared to leave somewhere I am happy and comfortable, for somewhere that is a gamble and could turn out to amazing or a dreadful mistake.

I’ve always been a drifter and this is the first time I had a job for 3 years and the first time I’ve felt comfortable, so don’t want to do something I may regret.

I’m 31 and hungry to continue to grow my career. A few friends have had terrible experiences switching jobs so I am being cautious.

Appreciate your opinions on what you’d do in this situation.
