A few months back, I posted an article from the UK where a judge allowed a woman who was divorced for 20+ years to get more money from her ex husband after he became successful (post divorce).

America was quick on its heels to follow delayed divorce decrees with its first victim: Kelsey Grammer.

The original agreement allowed the ex wife to walk away with $30MM.

Recently, a judge revisited this marriage and allowed her to obtain more of his funds (post divorce decree). She will get half of his 401k.

In summation: divorce is not the end of the nightmare anymore if the legal system feels the ex "needs" more support years down the line after the both of you have moved on.

Then again, I'm not sure if we should have sympathy for Kelsey since he has been married 4 times. Some people never learn...

Where do you stand on this?
