I'll first say that this movie and another by the same director (The Shape of Things) have twist endings and by twist endings, it's not a fun twist. It's like taking a power drill to your soul. So don't spoil the endings if you do decide to put yourself through cinematic hell and watch them. I can't for the life of me figure out why imdb labels them as comedies. By no fucking definition are these movies comedies.

I hadn't thought about this movie in years and looked it up on Reddit just now and here it is.

It's been many, many years, but I've seen it. Last time I watched it, I was 20 and a little softer than I am now, but the movie is fucking brutal. I don't know if I left watching that movie a better or a worse person, but I wasn't the same. Aaron Eckhart plays one of the greatest movie monsters in a movie that's mostly forgotten. Yet oddly, he's not even the worst character in the movie. The spineless wimp deserves more scorn than anyone by the end.

What annoys me about the movie, is it's not about "men". It's about the two most awful archetypes of man that exist: a sociopath and a spineless fuckwit. Then you take those two and put them in a situation that I'll call "The most evil thing you can do without breaking the law".

So feminazis think this is a movie about men and that always fucking pisses me off.

"No, it's what a fucking sociopath and an angry/spineless twerp are like. 98% of men aren't this awful."

Funny thing is, in response to being told he seemed to hate men, the director made this nearly as brutal film to show that women can be fucking evil too - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0308878/ - Then he went and made Wicker Man with Nicholas Cage, so I don't think we trust him to make movies anymore.

I didn't watch Your Friends and Neighbors. Just know that both movies are not fun. They're high quality movies, but they are not fun. They're examinations of evil.
