I do feel eugenics can lead to some bad shit if taken too far. Worst case scenario, you get genocides like Aktion T4. Using force to weed out undesirable traits does raise concerns such as "what is considered undesirable" as well as "who is deciding this and why?"

At the same time, people aborting pregnancies where the fetus has a mental/physical disability does have a demonstrably positive effect on society and economies, but it's considered evil or taboo to say such things.

I remember seeing articles about CRISPR tech basically being a thing now, totally capable of eliminating defects and genetic illnesses before the zygote can form a nervous system or organs. But it's now considered "erasure" and "ableist" if you don't think the world needs more mental and physical cripples that cannot be independent. All I advocate for is not intentionally bringing more defects into the world.
