Sick of hearing this phrase repeated all over the place by blue pillers, without any commentary on the fact that one of these positions is completely irrational. Why in the world would you decide to sign a contract and pledge your intentions in front of the world to spend the rest of your life with someone if they did not hold the personality, values, or behavior that you are marrying them for? Would it not be more logical to marry someone because they have those things already and you would assume they would not change significantly during the course of a marriage?
Women: I am going to marry him because he has resources, I am just going to hope and pray I can change everything about him because beyond what he can provide for me I hate everything about him.
Men: She is beautiful, pleasant, respectful, cooks, cleans, and we have great sex. I hope it stays exactly the same forever, this is why I am marrying her.
Just a pet peeve of mine that blue pillers repeat this mantra without giving any critical thought.
