I had to try several times to get my ex to leave. She just wasn't getting it and I had to try everything I could short of violence to get her to get the picture.

"No, you don't. Otherwise, you'd be happy to see me and wouldn't be cheating on me all the time."

"It wasn't like that".

"I'll tell you what! We'll live as roommates and you can pay 100% of my rent and when we do finally breakup, you agree the dog is mine. Agreed?"

It took 2-3 months of her paying rent by herself to realize that she wanted out. Then she took 3 weeks to move her stuff out. And the dog is all mine.

Not always true. With the exception of my first wife (yes, I had to go back for seconds) I broke up with the rest. Now to be fair, two of them believe they broke up with me. But I was so over their attitudes I just doubled down on being independent (women hate that shit) and they had their little tirade and stomped off thinking they had showed me. As I got older I saw it was smarter to let them think they had won at the breakup because wimminz will do crazy shit (like break your windows out, stalk you etc) if they think you had the last word.

I broke up with a woman recently who was going around saying to other people that we were engaged. I asked her kindly to explain what in the world was going on. She said "well, we're practically engaged aren't we?" This was after only a few months of dating. I said "see ya!" and ended it. She didn't take it too well and has been wheedling for me to take her back ever since.
