One of my good friends whom, even after school, we'd make time to hang out when we weren't both working all the time/at the same time. He broke the news to me that he got engaged to some chick. Now, he comes from a traditional mormon family whereas I was never religious nor indoctrinated into such. Nothing against him and his faith, but I believe he was somewhat pressured into getting married, getting engaged or whatnot. Now that I know he's getting engaged, it (time) totally has gone over my head and I've realized it's not too farfetched for someone like him to be going along with this.

My question to all of you guys is... how do you react to something like that? Your friend gets engaged and he knows you're anti-marriage and maybe even anti-female (myself included). I don't know how mormons operate with the marriage fiasco, but if it's anything like regular christian-held marriages, am I to assume if I was asked to be "best man" or whatever, that I should even follow through with that? I mean, hell, he's a good friend of mine, but it all came to me that, I could also lose him to this chick and that there's nothing I can really do. I want the best for him, but ... how can I show support to something I'm against?

Uhh.. sorry for the rambling, but I'd like to hear your guys' thoughts on this type of situation and how you'd react to such news.
