343 men died in 911, how many women? Zero is the answer, thus it's firemen until there is 'gender equality' in deaths. Never mind that the requirements to be one are different based on gender.

Actually, most prefer the term firefighter. A fireman is a guy that stokes a boiler. My friend is a firefighter.

I have been in fire and ems for nearly 7 years and I have never personally used "Fireman." Last I check it was Firefighter, this includes all the standardized textbooks for probationary firefighters in the Academy.
