Ever since I was younger, I hated it when people did better than me. I was always competitive, and measured myself against everyone. School grades, income, weights in the gym, number of push ups, who went on more dates. The better someone was in something that I wanted/needed to be good in, the more I hated them. Many times, I would make them my enemies by insulting them and when I was younger I would get physical as well. If I couldn't beat them in whatever discipline I was working on, then I made sure to at least have them at my feet. Of course, as the years went and punishments grew more severe, I stopped doing that. I still very competitive and am more passive aggressive t those who are doing better than me. Sometimes it's hard, there always seems to be someone who got outplayed me just a little bit. Sometimes, I imagine straight killing them so I don't have to deal with their competition anymore. It's exhausting though. So how, can I stop resenting the people who are doing better than me?
