I don't post very often or even upvote that much. I'm what you would call a “lurker”, I prefer the term observer. I created an account just for this so I can still "troll" on other subs on my main account. I don't have "that" horror story, but after all this time lurking, I want to contribute something to this community, talk and give you guys and maybe 1 gal a hopefully good read provides that content I normally like to read as I see a lot of shit posts in here recently. I don't mean to sound condescending I just say things how I see them. I also might stray from MGTOW at sometimes, but it’s a story so just enjoy reading if you're into it or skip past parts you don’t like. If enough of you don’t like the “my life” parts I will highlight the MGTOW stuff. Also to the mods if any of this content violates the rules I’m happy to edit.
It's going to be a long one, this is almost an autobiography, so pull up a chair, grab a good drink (I know I did writing and reading my old memoirs) and have an engaging read. (pretty much my life story, my ex-girlfriend, my opinion on MGTOW and what our community should be) TL; DR at the end of every paragraph grouping
My story (skip to The Community, Her if you aren't interest in large backstories, my story and just want some mgtow oriented reading)
Now that the introduction to the introduction is over, I know I’m retrospectively young, but I hope that we can all draw something from my experiences and build on them even if they aren’t that bad.
My Parents Some MGTOW I was raised by two parents a mother and father (wish this didn’t have to be stated). We are southern and just to give some context to my politics my mother is a democrat and my father a republican (that’ll be the only time politics are mentioned this entire story). My father came from nothing and worked his way out of the gutter to become a wealthy man. My mother comes from a wealthy southern family. I love my mother, but she had a spending problem and before she hit the wall, she was "stunning" according to my dad. My mother always got what she wanted from her parents and only in the past couple of years she has slowed down. My parents met, and my dad was just one of those guys looking for a girl to settle down with. My father isn't a "chad", but he could've been 6'5 high, 6 figure salary and good looks. My mother got her claws into my father and after 3 months they got married. My grandfather said to my father one of the happiest days of his life is when he realized he didn't have to pay my mother’s credit card bills. My mother and father did not have a happy early marriage, fighting over money and living within means. They would've gotten divorced if I wasn't born.
They didn't get along most of my early life, but didn't separate because my mother says, "My parents got divorced and look how I turned out". My father is an extremely hard worker and provided for us (my mother, brother (3 years younger) and I) and was often away for months working out of country. To be honest I don't know what conversations and work they did as a couple, but somehow, they've come to be one of the strongest couples I've ever seen. That might surprise you based on the context, it sure as hell surprised me watching them when growing up, but they are the probably the only thing that makes me doubt MGTOW sometimes. My mother went from being "that" feminist, to be a men's right activist and telling my brother and I to avoid marriage unless "you are absolutely sure it isn’t a mistake." Even though my father was gone most of my early childhood and they had a tough relationship. The two of them came together to raise my brother and me. I hope, I could convey who my parents are, the transformation they went through, to give enough context as to talk about how I was raised and to do my parents justice. This post isn't supposed to be about them, but I thought some back story was important.
TL; DR (My parents probably haven’t have been together, but worked through it and did a respectable job together)
Early Life MGTOW in second half
I want to preface that until high school I don’t think most of this is super informative as I was just a child. I don’t want to sound like I’m not grateful for what I had, knowing that most people would die for the opportunities I’ve been given. I was that quite child, by other words “the quiet” kid. I liked to keep to myself a lot as a kid, often staying by myself and separating myself from others. I honestly can’t say if it's because of my parents fighting and sending me to my room while they fought, or It’s who I am, or maybe it's because I was different. I don’t mean to sound special (everyone is special with their own skills and personality), but I want to get across the fact that people said I was “different”, like different at the age of 7 I was reading the memoirs of Julius Caesar type of different and watching senate hearings. I didn’t like talking and most days would get away with speaking under 100 words. I would get in trouble at school for not speaking up and participating in class most of my early life. My father and mother didn’t really know how to punish a kid that enjoyed being alone and reading, so they just sent me to my room and wouldn’t talk to me. But what would I know I was just a “child”. I kept to myself I hope this is getting across the point that I was void of social skills and the few “friends” I did have were those “misfits”.
They weren’t a good group of kids either, I knew it even at that age, all from troubled backgrounds and destined to fail. Going into middle school these “friends” started unhealthy habits and addictions to questionable substances and women. This is in middle school by the way. Not even high school yet. But even then, I saw something wrong with women my age. These friends of mine “girlfriends” (what were we like 13) were sexually active and would do the pettiest shit. These girls would vie for the attention of the group and would “cheat” with other guys in the group (not going to talk about that since we were all truly minors). This came to ahead when I caught one girl, let’s call her Ash (don’t remember her name anymore and who cares.), was cheating on my closest friend in the group who sake of the story is Carlie. Ash was the first real moment of my own personal MGTOW for me in life. Up until this point I didn’t really interact with females, because they weren’t of any interest to me. Because I was a well-read kid after this occurrence in the group of friends when we were sitting around one time, I jokingly called her a slut for what she did (I just want to state my social skills were not there). Charlie, Ash, the girls and my friends didn’t take kindly to my singling out of a group member like. Ash was upset and told me to call her a slut to her face and wanted proof. I obliged her request about calling her a slut, but didn't think it pertinent at the time to take pictures of her in the act. Ash smacked quite hard across the face. I was pretty much voted off the “island left the group, but before I stopped talking to my only friends at school I left Charlie and my other close friends with this advice. “This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.” Never spoke with them again.
TL; DR I didn’t fit in well with others and just wanted to be by myself all the time. Tried friends, they were shit, try again in few years.
Public High School No Mgtow just backstory
It’s not MGOTW till the 3rd paragraph skip the starting garbage if you aren’t interested in normal stories High School came and oh boy was I not mentally equipped for what I experienced there. A socially unequipped kid, whose only “friends” he left at the curb raging with hormones. A recipe for disaster. My father and I had some differing opinions about what classes I should take. The biggest argument of was over what language I should take. My father and I aren’t very close because of how busy he is and the fact that we don’t have similar hobbies. Not that we haven’t tried to like the same things, we just don’t. His father was a German linguist in the army and that where he met my grandmother. My father was raised in Germany, but was an American citizen military base and all that. I wanted to learn German and learn something more about my history that I didn’t read in books. My father on the other hand thought it more pertinent to learn Spanish as Texas has a lot of Spanish speakers. I didn’t yell much as a kid, but I sure as hell yelled then (hormones do that to you). My father is one of those people, if that you fight back he’ll make it worse to spite your face. The only way I could ever beat my father in any argument was to be stubborn as he was. In 1 semester I went from an A student to a C- student. My parents didn’t know how what they could do to punish me. I didn’t like to go out, I didn’t have friends and there was no punishment they could do to me that could truly harm me. I almost had to repeat the grade. But I passed everything except Spanish on purpose.
My father was furious (rightfully stubborn angry man), and threatened me with the only punishment he could think of. My father wanted to send me off the boarding/military school. The problem was that all the military academies in my state wanted interviews with the children. Every interview I had I failed with flying colors (meaning I was already military smart and trained). One of the sergeants (don’t know what they are called sorry service members) took my father aside and told him “sending you away wouldn’t accomplish anything, if anything this kid will come out worse”. My mother proposed a different solution. Christian private schools. OH BOY.
TL; DR I threw my whole GPA away to spite my Dad. Dad and I are super stubborn. Sent to private School.
Private High School
I was never raised religious. I always thought religious people were misguided savages. But that changed when I got sent to… I can’t say the actual school's name, but let’s call it St. Adams high school (wait shit this school exists in India). Let me say I hated everything about high school, but St. Adams was tolerable the teachers cared about their students generally, differently from my public-school experience, and “most” students were there to learn and finally in this environment the initial onset of puberty had slowed down, and I was finally gaining social skills. My grades improved again, still taking Spanish (fuck you Dad) and through after school activities I finally learned how to communicate properly with others. I had good friends for once. Up until this point I didn’t enjoy celebrating my birthday, because I didn’t like social gatherings, but now I enjoyed talking to people. For the first time I was finally figuring out how to interact with people and make friends. Maybe these people aren’t all zealous savages.
TL; DR life was finally looking bright than how dark I was throughout my childhood. Social skills, grades and friends acquired.
Her
“Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng.”
I wanted to write this so young men who have no idea what is going on can use this as a warning. All the exposition before this was me just trying to explain who I was. I want to make clear this story isn’t about wanting sympathy, it's more about telling those other socially awkward kids what to watch out for, if their lives are similar. Even writing this gets me frustrated and I’ve written this by itself a couple dozen times trying to post just this story throughout the last year. I just could never figure could explain what she did without proper backstory.
Her. Let’s just call her Eve (In honor of the woman that ruined everything for men). Eve oh boy. She was cute and smart, a lethal combination I didn’t understand at the time. At this point I was never interested in women. That sounds strange, but I just didn’t have the natural draw to women. In our after-school groups I had begun to take a leadership role in what we were doing. I’m tall and athletic, but I never wanted a girl or was interested in one. I had always thought almost every decision in my life thoroughly through my head, until her. In my leadership position I was tasked with talking with underclassmen and helping them through struggles. Eve was a smart student and when I came to talk to her she expressed a lot of interest in me. I was putty in her hands. I just didn’t know it yet vulnerable, impressionable and inexperienced. Eve approached me and was very nice. I still remember the first week of talking. She learned everything about me. Never in my entire life had I ever told the whole story above this text. I told her even the darker stuff in detail about my life. I told Eve things about myself that I had never truly thought about myself before. My parents always said, “put your whole heart into a relationship”. Boy did I not understand I was being played. How could have I know how deep this rabbit hole would go. I don’t even know where to start with this girl the harlot. That's not a fair term Eve wasn’t a slut. But she was manipulative. I guess I gotta tell her story and why she should be pitied. /s Eve’s father left her mother very young. He saw something very wrong going on early. These women weren’t normal. Eve wanted power. Power in the relationship and over me. I had thought from my childhood and who I am that a relationship was at least a 50/50 split. But no. She was in charge, she chose what I spent my money on. Oh, and you notice how I stopped talking about my friends. Eve didn’t fit in with them, so they were “splitting us apart”. But I thought she made me happy, so I kept trying.
I tried so hard I did whatever she wanted. Friends, those get in the way of spending time with here. Video games, play only the ones she plays. Job, she wants to eat, go places, get new clothes etc. etc. etc. Thousands of dollars. Gone. blown to make her happy. She wasn’t happy if we were just watching movies, wasn’t happy with the cheap option. Wasn’t happy with my parents. My friends. Who I was. I had to change for HER. All the friends I had I threw away for some girl who convinced me I was miserable with. I knew I wasn’t happy, but I forced myself to keep trying. Don’t quit now. Man, up for her and make a good life. I threw away opportunities to be with Eve. I choose not to attend a 4-year college out the back to be with her. I threw away some of the best school offers to be with a girl. Sigh. a year after this relationship and I still get heated. She went to a private Christian college to get some worthless art degree and I followed to the nearest university I could get into. Thank God, I went to a real college. It got me away from Eve. I woke up when I wasn’t with her every day. It woke me up to the problems in my life. Eve even after our falling out tried to contact me constantly and begged for months to get back together. I blocked her, deleted her social media, and reconnected with old friends. Eve even though she hated my old friends talked to them to see what I was doing. She is by far the worst mistake I’ve ever made.
TL;DR Girl approached me, committed myself, wasted 3 years of my life
My thoughts on MGTOW
I want to talk some about what I think about MGTOW. Nearing the end relationship with my Ex I found Mgtow. I saw many of the problems I had in that relationship on this sub and it helped me understand what was going on. Without this sub I might still be there. But that out of the way Mgtow has some problems. We are “woke” or “Red pilled” but this movement has some problems with its core. Now what do I mean by this? Some men in this community say all women are evil beings out to suck the life out of every man. This movement shouldn’t be about hating women, it should be about men getting away, getting together and trying to make sense of what's happening in the post-feminist world. We ourselves state we have no leader, but we attack those in our community still striving for normal human relationships. Do I think women are evil? No. Do I think women are liars? Yes, but so are men. Yes, domestic abuse, feminism and divorce run rampant in this world, but we here in this community are supposed to be the light house in a sea of shit. We are supposed to try and build a new community, try and understand one another with our different opinions on Mgtow ideology. This movement isn’t political, like some of us make it out to be, it is about make our own lives and decisions and not letting others make it for us. It’s a lifestyle. We are males it’s hard to fight an evolutionary trait that since the beginning of time living beings we want to carry on our genes. We are social animals and are most basic human instinct is the procreate. Whether if you believe in a higher power, evolution or both, men and women were created to be together. That’s the ultimate red pill to swallow, that our society has progressed so much from being primates that procreating isn’t desirable anymore for men. Part of being human is improving. We must look to ourselves as well, if we want to fix/create a society we want to live in. Women don’t hold all the blame. Don’t take the easy path and blame others. Take responsibility for your own actions. It’s the only way we improve is when we realize we are at fault.
I hope that one-day society can progress to where men and women can once again get married. Are relationships perfect no. Marriage throughout time has been deeply flawed like ourselves as human beings. We shouldn’t strive to be like the past, we should take what we can from the lessons of our ancestors and create a new life. That’s what Mgtow is to me. A new dawn on the humanity.
Ending notes
I'm not sure what type of response this whole thing will bring. I’m not perfect and I know some of you won't think I’m not true Mgtow, that's fine, but define Mgtow other than *men going their own way. * I look forward to talking with you in the comments.
