Ask him what makes him better/different than other men, even the great and powerful ones in history. Then highlight their problems in relationships and ask what he has that makes him more special than those men.

When he protests, ask him about the relationships of every single man he has ever known and looked up to as a good man. Ask how it worked out for those men, and don't let him tell you of that one outlier that was more likely than not a case of them keeping shit behind closed doors. Once again, ask him what makes him stand out from those other men.

If he gives you the unicorn speech, ask him bluntly if he thinks all those other men already discussed were fools, or perhaps they too thought the women who made their lives hell were unicorns at the beginning, just like he is doing now. If that doesn't work, step back and watch the meltdown and be ready to help him when he is slobbering in his beer (that you bought him because she stripped him of his money).
