qWhile driving to work this morning, a local radio station was talking about a married couple of pediatricians that will be participating in this summer's Canadian Amazing Race.

The first thing that caught my attention is when the couple (who were guests on the radio show this morning) started talking about how they met. The woman said that the guy used to annoy her during university and they all had a laugh about it, and when the guy wanted to add a point or two to the story, his wife said "we can't talk about the other things here".

Now to add to this, the man had an effeminate voice (not the actual issue here, but it might indicate something else), and literally said "she's the boss in this marriage. You know that's the secret to a happy marriage, let her wear the pants", and everyone had a great laugh (none more than the main host of the show whom I suspect is actually laughing at the husband).

The whole interview was a little hard to listen to, with the wife letting her husband speak minimally and taking all the spotlight.

A few things I see here:

First, the woman was annoyed by him during their studies together, so is she with him because they are both medical doctors which maximizes her available spending money and status?

Second, is the man's effeminate voice the cause of his betatude, or an effect of it?

And third, the secret to a good marriage (not happy, not great) is to let her be in charge of everything. #wisdom
