Long story short:
She believes:
1.) guys should pay for all the meals, drinks etc during dates (her bf really does pay for all of her meals)
- I'm firmly go-dutch ( i'm debating from a neutral point of view since my colleagues have a tendency to shut off your opinions if you're partisan on an issue), so my question is why? She said this is an "investment" by the guy. I ask, so what kinda returns are we talking about? She says, :" well, they get me?". I said thats a pretty shitty investment because if she bails, you lose all capital (not to mention there's no periodic returns like coupon payments in bonds), and all she's bringing in as "returns" are basically intangibles, even if she does look good, they are probably depreciated in an accelerated manner anyway.
- She says:"well, you can't look at everything in such black and white"
2.) The woman manage control household finances
- I reply the most qualified person should manage it. If my wife (once again, neutral standpoint) is a fund manager for example then i'd have no qualms about handing my money to her, but if she's not, the eggs should not be in one basket, if the guy is the competent one then he should manage it. She argues finances should be a "together decision". THEN WHAT SO TOGETHER IF ONE PERSON IS CONTROLLING IT???
- my thoughts: No fucking way im letting her manage my finance, she couldn't even tell the difference between and asset and a liability.
3.) Thinks love can be unconditional
- I called BS on this, probably only our parents ever loved us unconditionally, if the first thing you noticed was his job you've already imposed a condition on it, thereby failing your initial statement.
- she once again said you can't look at it in such objective manner....which brings us to her statement in my post, about me not going to find a gf if i continue to think this way...
