Marriage is just no longer a viable or worthwhile transaction the way it used to be. At one point in time, men gained someone to take care of the house, to raise the children and to be a companion. Now, good luck getting one of those things, let alone three.

Of course, this very rarely gets brought up in these types of articles as it's once again the elephant in the room. There are too few incentives to get married, simply nothing to gain and too much to lose.

Cheap sex is a symptom not a cause for men turning away from marriage. Cheap sex just happens to be a thing in the modern age but it doesn't result in men avoiding marriage.

The most impactful issue leading men not marrying is marriage itself. Marriage binds a man to a fickle female and handcuffs a man. If things go well the married man will only lose his independence, his disposable income, will be a slave, get less sex and a plethora of other things in marriage 90% of which are not positives.

Most modern marriage age men have seen divorce and how it effects men, these same men have seen what happens to married men who become zombies. So blaming cheap sex as a reason for men not getting married is akin to saying "Less men are getting eaten by sharks because men have access to fish in the market."

It's to confrontational and scary to actually acknowledge the real reasons. Most of the males in Milennial generation have SEEN in first person what women are like, due to mass divorces etc. We have seen how are moms are, how our sisters are treated and do NOT want to be involved any more. So instead of blaming anything else, they should be blaming the single mothers that showed such a great rolemodel on what one should NOT want.. and now, they complain that we don't want to commit.. lol. Go to my mom and complain to her as she's the sole reason I'd never get married.
