I used to be a liberal and now I am not. But to be conservative is just as dumb. I can't trade one set of falsehoods for another. I simply realize both sides are attempting to manipulate me for their own ends. Not only that but they are framing false issues in the first place. The entire narrative of what are considered "the issues" is false. I reject both liberal and conservative idealogy, and no longer believe they are even discussing real issues most of the time. It's a weird thing to realize you live in a world where the vast majority of people are merely the pawns of the people who control these false narratives.

One example of what I mean from the left and right. During the Bush years, anyone who disagreed with Bush was said to be "with the terrorists". Now, during the Trump years, the left brands anyone who disagrees with them as a "privileged racist". It's the same kind of lie, a lie based on the consolidation of power through outrage and extreme exaggeration of a threat. In 10 years there will be a new lie, once this set of lies loses its outrage potency and shadow of believability. Meanwhile those who are the greatest believers in these lies will see their world views collapse thru ever growing hypocrisy. Their disillusionment is inevitable, as is their overreaction once they finally reject what now possesses them. Their disillusionment and overreaction will also be manipulated. That playbook is already assuredly written.

James Hillman, the famous archetypal psychologist said that if you aren't conscious of the belief you are living, then that belief is living you instead. We live in a world where people are being lived by others manufactured beliefs as automatons, not even aware that they have lost volitional choice in what they live by. Using Hillman's definition, Gynocentrism is another belief that is living most people. They are unconsciously living out its directives unaware of the false narrative that controls them.

The left’s intensifying war on free speech has produced a surge of red pill videos. Some take Owens’ in-your-face approach. Others are meandering, hipster confessionals delivered with the wordy earnestness of characters in a Duplass brothers movie.

Back in the 1930s, Progressives/Socialists, after Woodrow Wilson and the Prohibitionists had made Progressivism an unpalatable political label, appropriated the "Liberal" label, arguing that they were the defenders of "real" freedoms: Freedom from want, freedom from hunger, freedom from fear.

All of these freedoms were to be secured by an all-powerful, all-pervasive, all-encompassing government that, naturally, would be controlled by the Progressive qua Liberal. This polite fiction went undisturbed for 70 or so years with the occasional muffled cry from the Classical Liberals who had their good name usurped by a band of power-hungry statists.

With actual, bona fide Marxists emerging from within the midst of Progressive qua Liberals, some of them are put in the position of making an uncomfortable choice: Either they have to follow Progressivism to its logical conclusion, or actually defend the Liberal principles (freedom of speech, freedom of peaceful assembly) to which they have paid mere lip service for decades.

The tide is turning. And that's a bad thing, or at least for MGTOW, not specifically a good thing.
If anything, having actually taken the red pill should have tought you to not ever trust mainstream 'Flavor-of-the-decade' rhetoric.
The article's 'red pill' isn't even an actual red pill perse; the article is just identifying the shift of the Overton Window.
Authoritarianism vs Libertarianism isn't the actual red pill; the actual red pill is what MGTOW know; gynocentrism.

What currently is happening has been happening for decades; people are 'waking up' to this supposed underlying truth and say that the political right is what's actually correct only to fall into the same trap when the pendulum swings the other way in the future.

TL;DR: People are jumping on the bandwagon of defying the old 'status quo' to signal their virtue by taking a false 'red' pill.

This article is conflating politics and Redpill philosophy. Just because I'm right, left, libertarian, or an anarchist doesn't mean I'm MGTOW

The two are not mutually exclusive, but sure as hell are not paired up!

PLenty of RP and MGTOW men are center or left leaning regarding politics, religion, and social issues.
