Hey gentlemen, first time posting. I am at a conference for work and at the end of the day, I went back to my room to drop off my laptop bag. My room key wasn’t working, so I went to the front desk. They had two lines—one marked “hotel members,” and one “regular” line. I’m not a hotel member, so I got in the regular line (there was no one in this line.) A dude walks up in front of me and asks the concierge for her to fix his key. She fixed it in a minute. I walked up behind him and ask her to do the same for my key. She fixed mine in thirty seconds.

I overheard the girl next in line in the hotel members line start ranting about how two men had cut in line in front of her (apparently she needed to have her key fixed too.) I walked off towards the elevator. The same girl walks over to the elevator continuing her rant on her phone in front of me, super-pissed saying how she couldn’t believe two men had cut in front of her and saying she should have called us out for cutting in line. While she was still blabbing on her phone I said, “or you could have just been passive-aggressive about it.” We got on the elevator and I delayed pulling out my room key to access my floor. This girl pulls our her room key and aggressively tapped it on the elevator sensor in front of me. I smiled. There was complete silence up to my floor. I calmly got off the elevator and walked to my room. She made some inaudible comment as the doors closed.

Feeling grateful tonight for this sub.
