As many of you are already aware, the broadcast of the Chargers and the Broncos on 9/11 will be the second game in NFL history to be called by a woman. I do not object to this simply because she is of a certain gender, but because she is not the most qualified candidate for the job. She has never played football in her life, so I doubt that she understands the game more than the other candidates for the job, who not only have played the game for a decade or more, but who have also coached for many years. More than likely, this is a move by ESPN to gain favor with our gyrocenteric society and promote the feminist conspiracy of replacing more qualified men with less qualified women in traditionally male dominated fields.
As much as our irrational world wants to believe otherwise, men and women are NOT the same. We are different not only in our behaviors and dispositions, but in our anatomy, physiology, and even the fundamental wiring of our brains. When given the freedom to choose activities to engage in and professions to peruse, these psychological and biological differences result in an unequal distribution of the genders in specific fields. This is a natural, healthy expression of the fundamental differences between the genders, and should be recognized as such. But society does not recognize this, and actively works to equalize the distribution of the genders, typically by promoting an increase in the amount of women in traditionally male dominated fields, even at the expense of REPLACING more qualified men in roles in those fields. We need to do everything we can to put an end to this irrational, destructive occurrence right now, for it has gone on for far too long.
