Oh boy, that girl is in for a surprise later in life. (Hey I'm a poet and don't even know it!) I'm 41 and MGTOW monk. I'm happier now than I've ever been before. I'm working and studying. Reading interesting books, exercising, playing videogames, 3dmodeling and enjoying life. The funny part in all of this is, that I get far more attention from women now, than I ever did when I was younger. It's bloody crazy. But the thing is, I don't want anyone anymore. I like the calm serenity. I like coming and going when I please. I like coming to my home and I like that it is empty and no one is bugging me. I like the freedom now. I enjoy it even more than when I was younger. The last thing I want, is for someone to ”save me”. Save yourself girl. Worry about yourself. Superman is not coming for you and Godot died on the way. At my age, most of us men are done with relationships. Some still pump and dump. Some are just pathetic and and can't stand to be alone for 5 minutes. But most of us are done. But, I somehow doubt she would believe me, even if I said all of this to her face.

Besides, men used to commit to a woman because it was the honorable thing to do. You were supposed to take care of a woman, or you weren't a man. Feminism killed all that. There is no honor in committing to a woman, only stupidity. You're like a bad joke, that they make fun of. And the wife's do make fun of the men that work hours on end to serve them. Where's the honor in that? There's nothing to commit to anymore. It's over, it's done. At my age doubly so. I don't go to a bed at night, secretly wishing that I could somehow find a woman to commit to. I'm happy that I don't have to commit to anyone. I don't want a ”honey-do” list. No man wants that shit. They do it, because they still think there is some honor in it. There is none.

If she wants to fix the situation, help get rid of divorce-rape. Make both men and women accountable for their marriages. She cheats? She doesn't get shit except what she brought into the marriage. It's not cruel. Don't spread your legs for any man other than your husband and you have nothing to worry about. He wants to divorce you to go fuck a 21 year old in Thailand? You get half his shit. Incentives to keep a marriage intact. I know feminism thinks it's slavery to hold women accountable for their actions, but marriage is about compromise.

That wouldn't fix it 100% but would be a fantastic start. Until then, any man that understands statistics and risk/reward won't marry.

Pure projection. I needed saving in my 20's - I still believed that being single meant that I was "alone" and I struggled for approval and empathy from women. I thought the fact that women weren't attracted to me meant they something was wrong with me. I was lonely and depressed, and I considered suicide for a little while.

After ten years of that, I've learned how to focus on what I DO have and how to be happy. If necessary, I can go out by myself and make new friends. I currently have a large number of siblings who care for me, and a small, core group of friends who are legit.

I'm going to be just fine in my old age. If the worst happens and everyone I know dies, I can always join a volunteer organization and some gaming groups to make new friends.

When I get 70 or whatever and I'm unable to take care of myself anymore, I'm going to join an old folks home that specializes in serving gamers. I'm going to spend the end of my days having lan parties and playing tabletop RPGs. It will be glorious.

You know, we see a lot of instances of women ascribing a certain thought process to men and we call it projection. It happens so often that I'm starting to wonder if there is a selective perception going on here.

What if it's not projection? What if it's what women are actually seeing and there is some truth to it? Not OP specifically, but in general?

We need to be careful to not get caught up in our own echo chambers. Question everything.

Edit - Just to head it off, I'm much happier being by myself than having a girlfriend - I can't be the person I want to be with a woman hanging around, and isnt that the root of happiness...or contentment?

i suspect she really does believe this and her intentions are genuinely well meaning (honestly) but i do think she is wrong, all teh miserable sad lonely men i see in society are the result of marriage or divorce, all the happy free and full of beans men i have seen/know are all single and been single for life.

men being single is also evolutionary more paletteable society wise than women being single.

being a single unmarried man is mysterious and cool, being a single unmarried woman is "reject" stamped all over it.

the youth dynamic of women being pursued and men being the pursuers implies single men with their shit together had greater passions and interests than family as to why they are single, the same is not true of women.

She has good intentions I think but arguing with a man like she does is aggressive and unfeminine. She has no right to talk back like that, it's a rebellious feminist spirit, and also indicates a lack of understanding of MGTOW and how to communicate with MGTOWs "on their level". She is shaming MGTOWs for advocating MGTOW over "good relationships". I agree with the point that MGTOW could make some men miserable/lonely/single, but the answer to that problem isn't as simple as "you should just go marry someone! ... someone who could destroy your life on a whim in divorce court, could end up having a bad marriage with you and destroying your life that way", etc. It's simplistic thinking. If MGTOWs are to marry (those of us who are temporarily MGTOW), it will take a lot of work to fix our own lives and the legal system and managing women. And for those who do marry and have tough marriages or they fail, there needs to be a support system in place ("I got your back") to help men cope. Again, the chameleons are doing almost nothing to create these real conditions which are needed (although they are taking some first steps which personally I think should be looked on positively) - they can be just LARPers, and I understand MGTOWs who are nervous about being tricked by them and lulled into a false sense of security of thinking they can marry one and live happily ever after, only to follow a common trajectory of unhappy marriage and/or divorce.

MGTOWs also I feel are too dismissive of genuine women ("they're chameleons!"), however I also feel that MGTOWs are right, that if these "chameleons" really want to prove themselves, they can go to much much greater lengths to prove their sincerity.
